the open space is not what opposes architecture to the natural or cultivated landscape but the one that conceives the same geographical context as a succession of indoor spaces of which architecture is an infrastructure.

in the case of Comano the project area contains relevant morphological features due to the inclination of the ground and to its panoramic facing towards the valley worth a beautiful view of the Lugano lake and of the alps on the west.

the project comes from the idea that the area must become urban texture and meeting point of the village. the county auditorium is conceived as a tectonic and physic perceptive stratification that
comes out of the ground and builds the roof garden on which a double level childhood school is built.

the vertical connection between the school and the auditorium works on a horizontal mesh of inclined routes that connect the building and the urban context.

so the design takes advantage of the tectonics of the terrain and of the natural slope to construct a harmonious and simple building based on the vertical (floor-on-floor) connection between auditorium and kindergarten.

the kindergarten on two levels combines relaxing and learning spaces, complying dimensional requirements and land use plan regulations.
