EXHIBIT DESIGN COMPETITION 2nd Prize
the proposal outlines a temporary exhibition layout that is flexible, modular, and can be assembled in multiple configurations, combining continuity of the internal levels on the floors and versatility of the museum spaces.
the internal works on the historical artifact configure a new level on the mezzanine floor, to reconstitute the accessibility and pathways of all visitors on the floor, developing a new stratification of meaning within the spaces of Palazzo Magnani.
the design highlights the value of the original architectural layout, cleaning it of today’s superfetations and that can be recognizable but not invasive, multiple but not redundant, structural but independent.
the new exhibition design is intended as a “container of precious objects”, that stands within the equally precious halls of Palazzo Magnani.
the structural system becomes a frame on which to “hang” the art works, a modular, light, thin skeleton that is configured as a support for the exhibitions.
this transparent diaphragm is thought of as a technical grid, in which both scientific and museum lighting to display art works and rooms’lighting to enhance historical building, are integrated.
